Queering Earth Systems

I seek to make earth systems queer. My focus is on queering the more than living parts of ecosystems (air, fire, water, soil, bedrock) as an act in defiance of mainstream structuralist and scientistic epistemological and ontological governance of these systems. I do this using autotheoretical, artistic, and creative methodologies informed by science and technology studies, critical physical geography, and queer ecologies.

Some of my ongoing projects include:

Queer (Auto) Theory of Air

Queering Fire and Ash

Karst Genders and Sinkhole Sexualities

I recently completed a short film that required queering air:

Air where air should not be: The end of student life

There are also some older works that touch on queering earth systems from the archive:

Queer Ecological Death In-Doors

Renaming Power: Indigenous and Trans* Perspectives
